Communication about your child never stops. After enrolment we encourage open and honest feedback and discussion.
Communication is essential for growth, so if you have any questions or thoughts or would simply like to discuss your child’s education, we make sure your child’s class teacher is available each morning and at the end of every school day.

Location
Situated in the heart of Leicester City in the Spinney Hill area of Leicester, is where 340+ children come to learn, grow and play in our secure, friendly and caring environment.
Catering from nursery to Year 2, our fully-equipped school and expansive grounds are well respected within the local community.

Doors open: 8:45am
Registration: 9am
Morning session ends: 11:45am
Afternoon session starts: 12:30pm
End of school day: 3:30pm
Reception & Key Stage 1
Doors open: 8:45am
Registration: 9am
End of school day: 3:20pm
Food in School
Children are welcome to choose between a packed lunch or a school meal for lunch.
All children in Reception and KS1 are eligible for free school meals and children order their lunch every morning during registration. Our school is a completely vegetarian kitchen.
Special dietary requirements can be catered for. We operate a zero nuts policy.
All children in school are asked to bring in a water bottle which is sent home every night to be cleaned. Children are actively encouraged to drink water throughout the day.
Under the Fruit in School scheme all children will receive a piece of fruit each day free of charge.
Sweets can be bought into school to share with friends when it is the children’s birthday.
Uniform
We believe that a uniform is helpful in establishing good standards of appearance in school and that it helps our children to develop a sense of identity, belonging and community spirit.
We also have a PE uniform, as we ask the children to come into school in their PE kits on their PE day.

Holidays
Children are not allowed to take holidays during term time unless there are exceptional circumstances.
School holiday dates are sent out regularly and are always available on the website or from the school office.
We politely request that you keep to these dates when booking holidays.
Admissions
Green Lane Infant School operates within an equal preference scheme and welcomes all children.
We are an academy within the Attenborough Learning Trust. Admissions are through Leicester City Council Admissions.
Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND)
Normal admissions procedures apply. However, where a Special Educational Need or Disability is identified the school will work with parents/guardians and other agencies to ensure that appropriate provision can be provided.
